ENJOY A DAY OF FAMILY FUN WITH THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE™ AT CROSSROADS V & HUCKLEBERRY RAILROAD ON AUGUST 16 – 18 AND 23 – 25
Flint, MI (July 10, 2019)— All aboard! Thomas the Tank Engine invites little engineers to go full steam ahead for a day of engaging activities and fun adventures at Day Out With Thomas: The Steam Team Tour 2019. Children are invited to spend a day with their friend Thomas when the #1 Engine pulls into Crossroads V & Huckleberry Railroad on August 16 – 18 and 23 – 25. Day Out With Thomas: The Steam Team Tour 2019 is presented by Mattel.
This fun-filled event offers children and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series. In addition, they will meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway, and Bob the Builder. Families can also enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities including toy play, photo ops, and more. The tour, now in its 24th year, will make 37 stops across the U.S. and Canada and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2019.
In 2018, Mattel launched a collaboration with the United Nations to introduce Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to preschoolers through the Thomas & Friends™ animated series, as well as other platforms. New this year, Day Out With Thomas: The Steam Team Tour is incorporating the SDG of Quality Education into activities at its events, and also partnering with the United Way of Genesee County to kick off an educational initiative called the All Aboard for School Supplies Drive. Roaring Camp Railroad will be one of several select markets where attendees can donate much-needed school supplies in support of two Flint, Michigan pre-K programs, Cummings and Educare, and earn a “Thomas & Friends Global Citizen Badge” for their support of Quality Education. These pre-K programs were created as a result of the Flint Water Crisis to combat developmental delays caused by lead poisoning from the Flint drinking system. The donation effort will culminate in August when Thomas the Tank Engine™ will deliver the collected school supplies to the young students of these pre-K programs during a special event at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Flint, MI.
